James Dodding ~  
 
James Dodding is Emeritus Professor of Theatre at Wake Forest University USA, currently residing in London, England.  He is and has been  Theatre Director  and Teacher at major Drama Schools and Theatres in the UK, USA, Ireland, Malta, Belgium, Hong Kong and Canada, including the National Theatre School of Canada and McGill University in Montreal,.  For 17 years James has been writer and broadcaster of BBC Programmes for Children.  He originally studied for the Theatre at the Rose Bruford College in London and with Ladislav Fialka in Prague and Marcel Marceau, both renowned mime artists.   He is the author of several books on Mime for children and other publications as well as an outstanding workshop leader in all facets of drama from mime to public speaking.  James is proud to be associated with Antony Stamboulieh and his outstanding work.
 
Catherine Lamond ~
 
Catherine Lamond is a registered Speech and Drama teacher and Transformative Arts practitioner who specialises in healing arts therapies.  She holds a degree from the Royal Scottish Academy and Glasgow University and is currently completing a Masters degree with a research focus in transformative theatre and arts education.  She holds postgraduate qualifications and has credited studies in Drama Education and Therapy, Arts Administration, Shakespeare and Elizabethan Theatre.   Her recent work is in provision of applied and therapeutic drama within disability settings. She has trained elementary and high school teachers in development of drama and communication skills, and in policy implementation for children with special needs.  Catherine is based in Victoria with connections in Vancouver and England.  She is both proud and delighted to be an associate of the Vancouver School of Speech and Drama, and holds greatest respect for the high achievement of its Directors Kay and Antony Stamboulieh.
   Cam Culham ~
 
Cam Culham has been an ESL instructor at the University of Victoria, English Language Centre (Continuing Studies Department) for the past 15 years. He completed a Masters in Arts degree in Drama in Education, at the University of Victoria Theatre Department and now coordinates and facilitates inter-departmental drama workshops at UVic and is a frequent guest in fellow ESL teachers’ classes, where he conducts workshops on a regular basis with all levels of ESL classes.  Recently, he has also been instructing international teachers in Drama in ESL strategies.  In addition to teaching, Cam is an actor, singer and a director.  He directs a Youth Musical Theatre workshop each summer and is a regular actor with Puente Theatre and has acted in the bilingual Acadian production Chemin des anguilles.  He has been a presenter at several international conferences, the most recent being IDEA 2007 in Hong Kong.  Cam has published his work and research in journals and books which explore the potency of the Arts in second language learning. He is very excited to be traveling to Cuba to explore the creative process with artists and educators there, as a way to enhance and revitalize second language learning.  Too often the spark is taken out of this process, whereas drama can help encourage engagement and meaning making with participants.
 
 
SHEENA WHITE, B. Ed, LTCL - Speech, Drama, and Effective Speaking:
 
Sheena has been involved with Speech Arts, Drama and Effective Communication for many years and presently provides private tuition in her own studio in Richmond, BC.  The curriculum includes effective speaking and drama skills with one of the main focuses being the preparation of students for the annual Speech Arts examinations with Trinity Guildhall of London.  Several of those students have received Exhibition Awards for top marks in their exams in West Indies, U.S.A., Canada and the Bahamas.
 
Besides teaching, she has been active in promoting speech and drama classes in local festivals and is currently responsible for organizing the Westcoast Speech and Drama Festival, a non-competitive festival that is held annually in Vancouver. Sheena has been associated with the Directors for many years and is herself an experienced adjudicator and workshop leader, always promoting the value of Speech and Drama training for everyone.
A native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Melina Moore grew up in New York City where her vocal and performance training began at the age of 9.
 
A versatile high lyric coloratura, Melina participated in a four-year Bachelor Degree program at the Juilliard School and appeared as a soloist in the Alice Tully Hall opera concert series, the Juilliard Opera Center and the Maxwell von Gluck Fellowship, studying and performing such roles as: Belinda in Dido and Aeneus,  Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, Adele in Die Fledermaus, and Nanetta in Falstaff.  She performed Papagena in The Magic Flute with the Teatro Colon Y.A. Program in Argentina. She has been an active recitalist in and around the New York area, and since her move west, has continued to appear in concert in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario, including performing Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Handel’s Messiah,  and Carmina Burana.  Melina has been a featured artist on CBC Radio Two and her newest CD, Trimmed With Gold, will be released in the fall of 2010.

Broadway and off-Broadway productions in which she has appeared as a principal artist include  Showboat,  Fiddler on the Roof, Guys & Dolls, My Fair Lady,  and The Sound of Music.
 
Since 1996, she has been the founder and director of the Valley Vocal Arts Studio (formerly StudioMoore) in Vernon, British Columbia.
